Welcome to Great Hearts Anthem, Serving Grades K-12
Great Hearts Anthem is a tuition-free public charter school serving grades K-12—kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, and high school—uniting children and young adults on a single, vibrant campus. Families choose Great Hearts Anthem precisely for this continuity. Here, the habits of clear thinking, disciplined study, and joyful wonder are planted early, tended patiently, and harvested when a graduate steps across the stage ready for college and a life of purpose.

Why Families Choose Great Hearts Anthem
-
Mission-Driven Excellence
Everything we do points back to the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. Our well-rounded curriculum—spanning literature, mathematics, science, fine arts, and the humanities—invites students into the “Great Conversation” of the Western Tradition. -
Personal Growth & High Expectations
In every classroom, Socratic dialogue sparks curiosity, while clear routines foster both joy and order. Students are challenged to meet high standards and supported by teachers who know and love them. -
Character at the Core
Courage, temperance, justice, and wisdom are woven into daily life. We believe the best schools shape not only minds but also hearts, forming compassionate young citizens ready to serve their communities.
Academics at Great Hearts Anthem are challenging, yet they always begin with wonder.
In Archway classrooms (K-5), students memorize poetry aloud, build bar-model diagrams in Singapore Math, and paint still-lifes in the style of Cézanne to train the eye for Beauty. These early lessons cultivate precision and imagination in equal measure. In middle school, the curriculum widens: Latin conjugations sharpen syntactic insight; Euclid’s proofs teach that truth can be demonstrated step by logical step; laboratory experiments translate abstract ratios into visible reactions. By high school, Anthem students tackle an honors schedule that rivals elite preparatory institutes—calculus, physics, Virgil, Dante, American founding documents—all discussed round-table style so that reasoning and articulation mature together. Graduates routinely post SAT scores far above state averages, and the Class of 2024 earned $2.7 million in merit scholarships.
Intellectual formation, however, is only half the picture; virtue education anchors everything.
In classrooms, teachers model virtue: firm yet cheerful expectations, praise for honest effort, correction delivered with clarity and kindness. Visitors often remark that conversations here feel older than the internet age—courteous, unhurried, substantive.
We Extend Learning into the Community With:
• Field lessons in local geography and ecology
• Service projects that strengthen civic responsibility
• Competitive athletics and fine-arts programs that build teamwork and creativity
A Welcoming Community for Every Family

Start with an on-campus visit where you can watch a Socratic seminar unfold, hear the kindergarten chorus sing “America the Beautiful,” and speak with students who will tell you—without scripts—why they treasure this place. Should you decide to join us, you will join a K-12 community devoted to guiding young souls toward Truth, Goodness, and Beauty—a journey that begins with curiosity in kindergarten and culminates in wisdom at graduation, then extends, we hope, into every corner of a life well lived.
Because Great Hearts Anthem is a tuition-free charter school, this education remains open to all families, regardless of income or zip code. Seats are assigned by public lottery, and applying during Open Enrollment offers the strongest chance at admission. Once enrolled, parents discover a community that feels smaller than its numbers—car-line greetings by name, teachers who send weekend emails with poem suggestions, headmasters who host quarterly Socratic nights for adults eager to keep learning alongside their children.
Warm Regards,
Teresa Clark, K-5 Headmaster
